Installing Mobile Partner in Ubuntu
You can plug and play your Huawei 3G dongle in Ubuntu or most linux systems without installing any third party driver software. But you cannot send SMS from your Huawei device which is capable.
Mobile Partner is Windows based driver software for Huawei 3G dongles. using this software we can send SMS and view usage graph of the device, but unfortunately usage graph is not working in linux based systems, but you can send SMS
There are newer mobile partner versions also available for huawei devices with various features available on you modem such as USSD, calling and vediocalling facility, i tried those versions also and failed but 16.0
1.you can download 16.0 from here click
2.extract the zip file
3. go to the extracted folder using command line
cd /<your extracted Linux folder>
permissions give permissions by
chmod a+wrx install
5.Then install the software by typing
sudo ./install
enter your password if it asks
6. It ask for the installation path
Please input the install path[/usr/local/Mobile_Partner]:
just hit enter to install it in default path and if you want different type full path
and hit enter
5. It may shows "installing NDIS driver failed" just ignore it and hit enter
6. search mobile partner in Dash Home and click to run it enjoy and to recognize
the device you need to disconnect the device if connected using ubuntu
network manager
